It’s anything but a normal day in Virginia Downey’s life when a mafia kingpin rescues her from a human trafficking ring and turns her into a vampire.
Virginia is thrown into a world of wealth and danger that she never could have imagined, and given a new family she isn’t sure she ever wanted. Crime-boss Carlo and his mercurial progeny, Aiden, quickly become her only constants in a life gone haywire. Aiden takes a special interest in Virginia and they find themselves drawn to one another, in spite of Aiden’s vindictive ex-girlfriend, Colette, doing whatever she can to keep them apart.
When Virginia discovers that one of her adopted family members has been lying to her from the beginning, she commits a violent crime that sends her fleeing across Europe in fear of retaliation. She is consumed by the desire to get revenge upon those who have wronged her, even if it comes at the cost of losing the only person that she holds dear.
Review
Kidnapped and locked in a basement, Virginia is rescued by Carlo, a powerful and ancient vampire who, in order to save her life, has to turn her into a bloodsucking creature of the night.
Is everything as it seems or is Carlo hiding something? Virginia sets out to find out exactly what is going on in the house of vampires.
A nicely written, free flowing tale that has great characters and keeps your interest all the way through.
Well worth a read
The Author
Emma Merrell is a happily married woman and the mother of a wonderful little girl. She is currently residing in the Sooner State, but Seattle is the place that she calls home.
While growing up Emma was a voracious reader. Her love of books led her to try writing stories of her own. Most of those stories currently reside in a shoe box, buried in the back of a coat closet.
Emma is drawn to writing novels with liberal dashes of romance and a sprinkle of the supernatural. She is also a sucker for writing bad boys, but in her world, they don't always get the girl. She prefers her heroine to be a strong-willed girl, the kind that doesn't sit around waiting for the white knight to save them.
