Strange things are happening in the sleepy Bengal village of Dongajora. A thief being chased by the only village policeman vanishes into the thin air, an old woman paralyzed with drugs is found at the site of the theft, and the only object stolen is a bottle of turpentine, instead of the highly coveted statue rumoured to be the key to fabulous treasures. Puzzled, the constabulary enlists the help of the village doctor and his two gifted children.

Aalo and Adhir are anxiously awaiting news of their mother, an army major who has been missing in action for three months; and jump at the chance of a distraction. As they delve deeper into the mystery with their mentor Shayeen, all leads start pointing towards the local Zamindars - the Rai family. Hints of foul play in the death of the family head, of his wife being blackmailed, and of dangerous ancestral secrets begin to emerge... and so does the motive for a heinous crime.

A catastrophic storm about to hit the village will provide a perfect cover and wipe away all the evidence... Aalo and Adhir have only a few hours to get to the heart of the mystery and stop a murder...

Review

A charming mystery story set in rural India that whilst entertaining the reader with Aalo & Adhir’s adventures also gives a real flavour of the people and customs of the country.

With a mix of action, adventure, intrigue and a bit of romance the plot thickens as the gang start to unravel the clues to a set of seemingly unrelated incidents.

With the puzzle solving skills of Hercule Poirot and the fun loving attitude of the Famous Five this is a delightful read and is suitable for anyone who loves a good mystery set in an exotic location

Mahabharata 2022

In a Mumbai dance club, Arjun’s son Abhimanyu is pleading for peace with Duryodhan’s son Laxman.

Suddenly, he stops and looks around. Then, smiling at his uncle Karna, Abhimanyu stabs himself in the chest with a syringe. In front of a shocked crowd, the heir to the country's richest business empire dies in agony!

Arjun is convinced Laxman and Duryodhan are responsible for the tragedy. Full of sorrow and burning with rage, he vows to kill every member of Duryodhan’s clan.

What follows is brutality of epic proportions. Laxman is nearly beaten to death, Bhim’s son Ghatotkach is shot, Shakuni is grievously injured, Drona barely escapes assassination, Draupadi is attacked in her house, Arjun’s office is blown to smithereens, and Karna’s acid-dissolved body is found in his bungalow.

Angered by the appalling violence, the public break out in mass protests. Riots erupt all over, the police are deployed, and bloody clashes ensue. Vigilantes loot and burn, while SWAT teams mercilessly attack protestors.

As the city burns, there remains only one hope of deliverance - - the dynamic investigators Radha and Krishna. Battling personal demons, lethal enemies, and political pressures, the duo race against time to put an end to the war between the Pandavas and Kauravas by relentlessly pursuing the truth behind Abhimanyu's death.

But will the truth, if they find it, be enough to avert the impending disaster…?
