The UK is under attack. A terrorist bomber has killed dozens of civilians in random attacks around the country. The security services seem powerless to stop him and the press have dubbed him 'The Ghost' due to his ability to set his bombs and escape without leaving any trace.
The seemingly unconnected murder of a high class escort provides the security services with their only possible line of enquiry. Desperate to stop the Ghost, they turn to Dan Green and Jimmy Johnson, two former SAS soldiers, who had previously tracked down and destroyed criminal gangs in Spain and France.
This 'off the books' team is joined by the dead girl's flatmate and they are lead into the seedy world of parties for celebrities and call girls and a race against time to catch The Ghost before he launches one final spectacular attack.

Review

Terrorist bombings are killing innocent people in the UK and the authorities haven’t got any leads. Enter Ex-Forces hard men Dan Green and his colleague Jimmy who are coerced into helping MI5 to track down and neutralise the Ghost.

From high-end escorts to Celebrity sex parties via Estate agents and a terrorist cell at the local mosque this won’t disappoint.

Murder and mayhem are the main themes of this novel and nobody is safe from the terrorists desire to slay infidels.

The plot is fast moving and keeps it interesting all the way through.

I haven’t read any of the previous Dan Green novels but this one works as a stand-alone story with enough background from the previous ones revealed during the book.

With a cast of interesting supporting characters this was fun to read and included a few twists and turns to keep it fresh.

I enjoyed it enough so that I’ll gladly go back and read the preceding books

Nigel James is a lawyer turned thriller writer, dividing his time between his homes in London and Spain. An avid sports fan, his first book, Deep Secret, was set in the world of horseracing and involved a clash between the horse racing and the adult movie industries resulting in murder, blackmail and kidnapping. His latest book, The Marbella Project, is a fast paced thriller set on the Costa del Sol in Spain. Former Special Forces soldier Dan Green seeks revenge for the murder of his son by the Russian Mafia. He recruits a member of his old regiment and the two of them take on the largest organised crime gang on the coast. Initial reaction to the book has been such that this is likely to be the first in a series.
